Enviri, formerly known as Harsco, has long been a trusted global leader in environmental solutions. They develop and refine creative methods of recycling and beneficial reuse for their customers, operating in over 30 countries with approximately 12,000 employees worldwide. Enviri partnered with Slice to raise awareness of their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) findings and engage stakeholders through a multichannel rollout strategy focused on their progressive initiatives, progress, and goals
The core of our strategy revolved around internal advocates. We began by identifying influencers within Enviri with robust social and professional networks. We deputized these employee champions as spokespeople and prepared them with customized content and talking points, all pulled directly from the ESG report. We made it as easy as possible for Enviri colleagues to copy and paste content, worked within schedules they were comfortable with, and helped answer questions about engaging with their networks on specific questions.
While individuals were critical in disseminating the ESG report points, we wanted to up the game of the corporate account compared to previous years. We partnered with a video production agency to craft a narrative around the report, so our audience could hear directly from the people who make the magic happen. These sleek, people-first productions were calendared out over the course of two months in order to tell the story of impact and maximize engagement carefully. Grand totals of recycled material are “just numbers.” It’s not until you hear from the people and communities impacted that it starts to feel real and meaningful.
Organizations seeking recycling solutions have options. But none of those options are as dedicated or successful as Enviri. The ESG report is powerful in proving this. In order to get it out into the competitive market, we created a LinkedIn ad strategy that reached key decision-makers with some of our most compelling content. Using this beautiful proof- of-performance piece to keep us top of mind in the industry just made sense.
The rollout strategy was successful, leading to increased awareness and engagement. The ESG report reached over 10% more audience than the previous year, with significant growth in video views. Social media engagement nearly doubled, indicating higher interest and interaction. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and the report attracted attention from trade publications, resulting in features in major industry outlets. Overall, our innovative communications strategy not only increased awareness and engagement, but also strengthened the company’s reputation as a leader in environmental sustainability.
