Clara Lefton

J.D. candidate, Rutgers University

Clara Lefton (he/him) is a journalist turned attorney. His professional life has been guided by his interest in and lived experiences related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. One of Clara’s main areas of experience is at the intersection of LGBTQIA+ issues and athletics. He has written extensively on these topics—including for The Philadelphia Business Journal, Dad Vail Regatta, Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship, and The Rainbow Times.

Clara earned a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College where he was a collegiate newspaper editor and NCAA rower; seven years later he enrolled at Rutgers Law School. He has since graduated and interned with the Honorable Judge William Conley of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.

The Diversity Advisory Council (DAC) at Slice Communications is a collective of accomplished leaders from a wide range of industries, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Formed to bring outside perspective and accountability to our work, the DAC helps guide our team in creating more inclusive communications strategies and workplace practices. By engaging with these advisors on an ongoing basis, we’re committed to evolving our thinking, challenging bias, and building a more equitable future for our clients, our team, and our community.
