International Women’s Day with Samantha Goldman, Mural

As a woman-owned business, we are honored to share the stories and messages of incredible woman leaders across a variety of industries for our International Women’s Day blog series.

This interview is with Samantha Goldman, CMO at Mural.

Why do you think it’s important to celebrate International Women’s Day?

Now more than ever women need to be recognized for the powerhouses they are and what they contribute to their communities, societies and to the world.

What motivates you to be a leader in your industry?

Sounds cliche, but my team. I get energy from the people I work with and they motivate me to be a better leader.

Are there any female leaders that have inspired you throughout your career?

At every stage in my career I’ve had strong female leaders who have inspired me, helped me to master my craft, and in watching them lead, enabled me to identify my own leadership style. The leader I am today is in part because of each of them! Thinking of this list is making me recognize what an amazing group of women I’ve had the privilege of working with and being mentored by: Caitlin McLaughlin, Hope Hughes, Elyssa Gray, Natalie Sunderland, Michele Law, Melissa Waters and Heather Freeland.

What advice or message would you share with young women who are looking to build their careers?

Don’t be afraid to try something outside of your comfort zone. It’s the times when you push yourself the most (and maybe even fail) that you not only learn the most but where you can discover what it is that you’re truly passionate about.
