Coordinator, Diversity & Inclusion, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP

Shawnna Williams (she/hers) serves on the Diversity and Inclusion team at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, leading and assisting in internal and external firmwide trainings, programs and events, lawyer and professional staff affinity group initiatives, and D&I Committee management. She has thoroughly enjoyed creating procedures for and assisting in the development of new Practice Group talent management programs to ensure all attorneys receive fair opportunities.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Shawnna led the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, responsible for the management of the Board of Director’s DEI Committee, event planning and sponsorship, DEI strategy, and member engagement. She most appreciated creating the first D&I programming for staff, facilitating high-level social access to prominent CEOs for diverse and small business owners, as well as securing sponsorship funds for the Chamber’s philanthropy and volunteer events for women and low-income youth of color.

Shawnna is also a Philadelphia based-artist with pencil-drawn and oil-painted portraits inspired by resilience, moments of solidarity and anti-racism, and embodiments of self-love and self-reflection. Featured on the Anti-Racist Artist podcast, her personal artwork and client commissions have been shown primarily in Philadelphia, as well as nationally and internationally. Beyond her portraits, and available on Amazon, Shawnna has illustrated children’s books that are centered around diverse representation. In her spare time, she serves on DEI committees and boards within the Greater Philadelphia Region, and is a volunteer artist for Bethesda Project’s Annual Portraits of Home campaign.
