The Values That Drove Our Rebrand

We began the year with a nice boost to our workforce and client numbers as the result of an agency acquisition. The merger was also a perfect opportunity to take a fresh look at who we are as a company, what we stand for and believe in, and how we want to communicate the new Slice Communications identity visually.

The results of our employee survey about what makes Slice different and special had a huge impact. As a result of all this deliberation and feedback, we developed four core values that were critical in forming our rebrand and creating our new logo.

“Yes, And…” Energy

This value is all about creating a collaborative, positive working relationship with our clients. It means that we’re willing to work with them to find creative solutions to their marketing challenges and that we’re committed to doing everything in our power to help them achieve their goals. By embodying this core value in our interactions with clients, we have built a reputation as a trusted, creative partner who is willing to go the extra mile to get results.

To put it simply, “Yes, and…” energy means that we approach every interaction with our clients and each other from a place of positivity and possibility. We listen to their needs and ideas, and instead of shooting them down or saying “no,” we look for ways to build on what they’re saying and add our own expertise and creativity to the mix.

Goal-Oriented Focus

We are those people who are always setting and achieving goals driven by a clear understanding of our clients’ business objectives. And we love to “high five” when we achieve one of those goals.

We maintain a laser-like focus on what matters most to our clients and use that focus to guide our decision making and prioritize our activities. We are proud to be known as a results-driven partner who is always working towards our clients’ successes.

We are constantly asking ourselves, “Is this activity helping us achieve our customer’s goals?” If the answer is no, we re-evaluate and make adjustments as needed to stay on track. Checklists, scorecards and reports are our friends. We live by this quote from Norman Vincent Peale: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”

Co-Pilot Attitude

Building strong, collaborative partnerships with our clients and working together towards shared success – that’s the foundation behind this value. We work at an agency because we are dedicated to helping people get where they’re going.

We want our clients’ marketing communications to be GREAT and support their business and professional growth so they can fulfill their mission/deliver results. Our team has tremendous experience, expertise and insights that we want to put to work for as many companies and nonprofit organizations as we can.

Being the co-pilot means functioning as a trusted partner and collaborator, being proactive and predictive and sometimes challenging their expectations and perceptions. We have regular check-ins to discuss progress, share updates and feedback and ensure that everyone is on the same page.

Always Learning

Yes, we read a lot of books. We even wrote a few! We also watch a lot of webinars and follow the news voraciously and study trends and review data and go to conferences…we even started a conference that turned into its own nonprofit organization, Social Media Day Philadelphia

We understand that the marketing landscape is constantly evolving, and that the best way to stay ahead of the curve is to always seek out new knowledge, skills and insights. We definitely put our time and money where our mouth is with monthly learning themes and speakers at Slice University. Ultimately, “Always Learning” is all about staying curious, staying hungry, and never becoming complacent.
